From 1st October 2007, Enduring Powers of Attorney have been replaced by Lasting Powers of Attorney. Any Enduring Powers of Attorney made before that date will still be valid but it will no longer be possible to make a new one.
By making an LPA, you can again appoint someone to manage your property and financial affairs. The LPA must be registered at the Office of the Public Guardian before it can be used but unlike the general power of attorney referred to here, it will not fail should you lose your mental capacity.
Unlike the deputyship application, having a LPA is cheaper, quicker and allows you to choose who will look after your finances.
We believe that a LPA is an indispensable document to have and can assist you putting one in place. We offer a fixed price service for this.
