Background

Gail graduated with an Honours degree in Law from Glasgow University in 1982, and is dual qualified in English Law and Scots Law.

Gail has been a partner in both a Scottish firm, and until lately an Oxford firm. Gail joined Neves in October 2009.

Gail has considerable experience in private client matters, including:

  • Preparation of Wills for individuals, married couples and unmarried couples
  • Inheritance Tax Planning
  • Probate
  • Domicile issues in Wills and Tax Planning
  • Capital Gains Tax and Income Tax Planning
  • Powers of Attorney and Capacity Issues
  • Elderly Client Matters including advice with regard to care fees
  • Preparation of Trusts
  • Administration of Trusts
  • Tax Compliance including preparation of tax return forms for individuals, trustees and executors

Gail is a member of both The Chartered Institute of Taxation, and The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Gail was promoted the position of Head of the Private Client department on 1st July 2011.

Outside Interests

Gail’s outside interests include travel (with Australia being her favourite destination), reading and watching football.
