Caroline Dusts Off Her Walking Boots

Head of Residential Property Caroline Hume has dusted off her walking boots and collection tin this month. Longstanding clients may remember Caroline’s Namib desert trek in 2004 which raised over £4,500 for Cancer Research.

This September saw Caroline take on the much less arduous challenge of a gentle stroll round Oughtenhead Common, Hitchin on a sunny Saturday morning. This time however Caroline was in a supporting role as it was her 19 month old son Isaac who was taking part in his first charity walk.

The walk had been organised by Isaac’s nursery Highbury Lodge in Hitchin to raise funds for the local Paediatric Intensive Care Unit which is based at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. Isaac was 1 of 20 plus children taking part. The mile or so toddle was plenty long enough for little legs and the children very much enjoyed their teddy bears picnic at the end.

Isaac’s toddling has so far raised more than £350.00 for PICU.  Isaac doesn’t as yet have his own Just Giving page but if you do want to find out more and/or make a donation please go to the nursery manager’s Just Giving page which is at

Caroline, Isaac and Caroline’s husband Iain are pictured at the start of the walk and Isaac is also pictured toddling his way through the long grass on the common.
