At the beginning of August we reported that Simeon Clipstone Neves Partner and Head of Commercial Property had qualified as an ECB level 2 Cricket Coach. His Ampthill Cricket Club under 12 Development Team had enjoyed an unbeaten run winning all nine of their league games to finish top of the Bedfordshire Southern District Development League.
Unexpectedly this qualified them to play the winners of the Bedfordshire Northern District as one of a number of junior County Finals played over the bank holiday weekend. Sadly rain accounted for some of the fixtures but Ampthill were able to complete their game against Bedford Cricket Club. Ampthill scored 201 for 7 from their 20 over’s in the Pairs Cricket format of the game specifically designed for young people. Bedford scored only 156/8 leaving Simeon’s Ampthill Development side Champions not only of their league but also of the County.
The boys will shortly enjoy a Presentation Evening to show off their trophies and medals.
