Peter Kelly rode again! What a beautiful day Saturday turned out to be. Perhaps if the weather had followed the previous week we would not have been so upbeat about it all! About 70 riders turned up at the Old Deer Park in Richmond for the Interhealth sponsored bike ride - some for 25k and some for the full monty of 50k! One has to commend the choice of the Thames valley - it is largely flat! Nevertheless the organisers had cleverly positioned the halfway stop at the top of a longish climb up to Esher, and the drop down to the end was only after getting up from Kingston to Richmond Park, which itself has a fair few hills in it. The organisers Do It For Charity/Skyline events had done a grand job of marking out the ride and kept us well fuelled! Thoughts at the end :
"Easy, I could do it again";
5pm:"I could eat a horse!"
9pm "Zzzzzzz..."
9am Sunday: "No... 50k was fine thank you!!"
