Beth Woodward has recently helped organize a community eco festival in Ampthill. This is the second year she has been involved and the hard work paid off. The festival was on Saturday 25 June at the Ampthill Baptist Church. There were stalls/presentations from World Vision, A Rocha, Anglian Water, Green Sand Ridge Trust and other local and environmental organizations. For the adults there was live music in the sun and cream teas together with workshops on make do and mend and a fashion show for recycled clothes. There were also thought provoking and fun activities and competitions for the children. Beth said “I was really pleased that the fact individuals could make a difference to the environment without losing out on their quality of life, or financially came across in a fun and informative way. The theme this year was “waste not and want less” and everyone came away feeling positive and equipped to make a small difference”.
